The Makings of a Movement
When you disagree with someone, it’s important to make your feelings, thoughts, and opinions known. After all, it’s a free country, right? If you’re not a fan of what’s going on in your community, your state, or your country, you can make your voice heard. You can make an impression. You can say just how you feel. The key is to choose a method that will work without compromising the freedoms of others, especially if freedom is what you’re fighting for. At GadsdenandCulpeper.com, we’ve been around for many years to help people just like you make a statement. Here’s a few tips on what you can do when you want to make your message known:
-
Organize. This is the first step in any successful movement. Gather together people who feel just like you do and start talking. Organize your thoughts. Start making arguments for why you believe what you believe. Make sure that this effort can really work and not just be a free-for-all.
-
Plan. Work with your group or community to come up with ways that you can show your support or disapproval. Make sure that all of these methods are within the law of course, but don’t be afraid to get creative. Remember, you want to send a message in a way that really gets people’s attention. However, you don’t want to do it in a way that’ll leave them disinterested or even disgusted.
-
Take action. Once you’ve planned and organize and have a well-thought course of action, it’s time to make it happen. Have a march. Send around petitions. Wear a political t-shirt. Whatever it is, just do it. Once you take action, you’ll know the next step. Be sure to listen for feedback and adapt your plan or your message accordingly.
